Protocols for Orthopaedic Professional Services


  • A multi-disciplinary pre-operative assessment team includes
  • A Nurse
  • A Physiotherapist
  • Occupational therapist
  • Pharmacist
  • Anaethetist
  • Surgeon

The preoperative assessment is focussed on patient education

The patients are made custodians of their radiographs and the "Passport", this passport contains information about joint replacements, in patient records, discharge letters, operation notes, etc.

Our patients and their relatives are encouraged to participate in there rehabilitation. Discharge arrangements are in place before admission. Pateints' progress is audited perspectively with an audit card and the SF36 questionaire. All patients' are reviewed between 6-8 weeks post surgery
