Your Rights


  • You have the right to expect safe and high quality care and to be welcomed and made comfortable during your visit.
  • You have the right to be treated with respect and dignity including privacy during your visit or stay with us.
  • You have the right to have family, friends or other representatives with you in discussions about your treatment.
  • You have the right to choose whether or not you agree to have any medical treatment .
  • We will give you information about your condition and medical treatment. This will be relevant, timely and provide you with the opportunity to ask questions and have further discussions with the team of people looking after you.
  • You have the right to be referred for a second opinion, if both you and your GP agree this is desirable.
  • You have the right to confidentiality in the use of information about you and your treatment.
  • You have the right of access to your medical records.
  • You will be listened to if you have any worries or questions.
